Welcome to Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s bustling capital city! Your journey will begin in the morning where you will board your Lan Diep Mekong River Cruise. Settle into your cabin and prepare for a breathtaking 3 day adventure to Siem Reap, home of the mysterious Angkor temples. We will begin by making our way to Koh Chen, a small island village known for their silver and copper smithing. The village inhabitants are highly skilled in creating delicately engraved ornamental items. Next, we will visit Cambodia's old capital, Oudong, the site of the royal stupas. As we return to the ship, you will be able to admire the distant views of the hills of Oudong, with the ruins of Anthareu temple at the top.
You will then be given a lunch on board as we continue to Kampong Tralach to see its stunning pagoda and outstanding century-old mural paintings. Visit its wonderful Vihara belonging to Wat Kampong Tralach Leu pagoda. We will cross Kampong Tralach Krom village along a small road, crossing some gorgeous stretches of emerald rice paddies as we leave the river behind.To end our first day, you will return to the cruise for a welcome dinner. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax on board.
This morning, we will continue our cruise to Kampong Chhnang, one of the largest fishing ports on the Tonle Sap River. Kampong Chhnang is also known for its market and pottery-making villages nearby which produce enough pottery to supply the entire country.Enjoy your lunch on board while we continue to cruise toward Kompong Luong, an incredibly remote yet self-sufficient village. Upon your arrival, you will take a small local boat to discover the incredible floating villages.We will then return to your cruise for farewell cocktails and dinner in the evening. Enjoy the last evening on board with a drink and special farewell dinner.
In the early morning, we will depart for Siem Reap, enjoying your last half day to relax on the deck as we make our way across the Tonle Sap Lake.After a final lunch on board, you will be dropped off at the pier to continue your onward journey.
