Welcome to Vientiane! Your cruise will depart at approximately 14:00. Settle into your cabin as we begin our 6 day cruise. Upon your arrival, you will be given a short guided tour of this wonderful capital city, including a visit the national symbol, the famous Luang temple, and the picturesque Arc de Triomphe.Return back to the ship and enjoy a welcome dinner on board followed by relaxation time in the evening.
Today you will cruise upstream through the untouched, formerly inaccessible parts of the Mekong river.Enjoy your lunch and dinner on board. Spend the night on a beautiful sandbank, surrounded by nothing but the sights and sounds of pristine nature.
Today you will witness some of the most remarkable and impressive landscapes in Laos as we sail up the mighty Mekong River. As you take in the beautiful scenery, we will visit some local villages along the shores. Enjoy natures breathtaking wonders such as hills covered in tropical vegetation and rock formations along the river banks as we continue to sail.At the end of the day, we will make another stop along the sandbanks where we will spend the night. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax.
Today you will cruise across the Mekong, stopping to visit the small riverside community of Paklay, famous for its colonial architecture. The beautiful landscape is interwoven with local small villages and herds of cattle.Upon your return to the ship, enjoy a nice dinner and have a lovely, relating evening as we continue to sail along the river.
As we cruise through Ban Thadeua, enjoy the spectacular views as we make our way back towards Luang Prabang. As we sail, see if you can spot the local fishermen catching fish near the shore.Enjoy your last evening on board with a lovely farewell dinner.
Once we have sailed for a couple of hours, you will take a bus tour to visit the Kuang Si Falls, the most famous waterfalls in Laos. On the way, you will stop to stroll through the small local villages.You will arrive in Luang Prabang in the afternoon, where you will sadly say goodbye to your wonderful Laotian crew, you local guide will greet you at the pier and take you to your hotel for Check-in.the rest of the day is yours to explore the city on your own.
In the early morning, you can join a traditional alms ritual and accept a blessing by the local monks. After breakfast, you will enjoy a city tour by visiting Wat Xiengthong, the stunning Golden City Temple, Wat Aham, which has depictions of Buddha's life painted on the walls and finally, the Royal Palace Museum, to have a chance to learn about the Lao history and culture.Overnight in Luang Prabang.
In the morning, you will be driven to Xieng Khuang - famous for its 'Plain of Jars', this strange name was given to describe the flatlands covered in mysterious 2000-year-old giant jars. On your arrival, you will visit 'Site 2' of the Plain of Jars before taking a short scenic trek to 'Site 3' via Dam and Lao Leum village.Following lunch, you will take an interesting tour around the old capital of Muang Khoun and a nearby village, which is home to the Hmong Hill tribe, who have a fascinating history and Tai Dam people, who are known as the 'the people without a country'.Overnight to Xieng Khuang.
In the early morning, you will go to visit the Central Market of Phonsacanh to watch the different hill-tribe people barter and exchange products and wares. If time permits, you will also get the chance to visit Site 1 of the Plain of Jars.After the tour, you'll be taken to the airport for your short flight to Vientiane, when you arrive your guide will assist you to check in. The rest of the day is yours to relax.Overnight at Vientiane.
This morning, you can have the chance to explore the interesting capital. After breakfast, you'll be driven to the airport for your ongoing flight. Leaving this beautiful country with many wonderful memories and stories to share with your loved ones back home.
