Generally, there are three ways to enter Cambodia: by airby roadway and by water.

1. By Air

So far, there are two international airport in Cambodia: Pochentong International Airport in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international Airport. Phnom Penh International Airport is the largest airport in Cambodia and the gateway to the capital, while the Siem Reap International Airport is the busiest airport for it serves visitors to the temple of Angkor. Both airports boast good custom services and restaurants, bars, shops and ATMS are available.

2. By Roadway

a. from Thailand

The border crossing between Aranyaprathet in Thailand and Poi Pet in Cambodia opens from 08:00-18:00. There are also two trains to Bangkok in a day at 06:40 and 01:00. Visitors have to get Cambodia visa at Royal Cambodian Embassy in advance.

b. from Laos

Borders are often closed to foreign travelers with little notice. Travellers entering Cambodia from Laos must obtain a Cambodia visa before travelling to the border.

c. from Vietnam

International border crossings at Bavet in Cambodia and Moc Bai in Vietnam connect two major cities of two countries: Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam and Phnom Penh City of Cambodia with the distance of around 230km.

3. By Water

The only international connection by water is through Mekong River crossing from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh.

Get Around in Cambodia

1. By Flight

Daily domestic flights between Phnom Penh And Siem Reap are very convenient. Flights to Sihanoukville are now available.

2. By Boat

Major routes operate boats transfer include Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and Siem Reap to Battambang. It is slower than road transfer and charge higher.

3. By Motorbike

Motorcycle taxis are available in major cities for a quick trip across the town. Usually cost only US$1 or less.

4. By Bus

Air-conditioned buses and 15–20 seat VIP coaches are available in Cambodia running between major cities, including Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Siem Reap, Battambang and Kompong Cham.

5. By Pick-up or Shared Taxi

Shared taxi are now popular in Cambodia with its speedy but comfortable service. You can look for them at Phnom Penh's central market.

6. By Bike

Transfer within one city and want to explore the city deeply, cycling is the best choice. Bicycles are available for hire at many guesthouses and hire shops in towns for around $1.50–3 per day.

7. By Cyclo

Cyclo, also named three wheeled pedal powered vehicle, is quite common in the cities. Although it is slow, but a unique and pleasant way for you to take in the city and street scenes.
